  • The Plaza of the Seven Temples is an architectural complex located in the ruins of the Maya city of Tikal, situated in the Petén Department of northern Guatemala. Specifically, it lies to the south of Temple III and to the west of the South Acropolis, approximately 300 meters (980 feet) southwest of the Great Plaza123. This intriguing plaza derives its name from a row of seven small temples dating back to the Late Classic Period (600–900 AD). With a surface area of approximately 25,000 square meters (270,000 square feet), it ranks among the three largest plazas within the city of Tikal13. The Plaza of the Seven Temples holds a rich history, with traces of human activity dating back to around 650 BC. It’s a captivating site that offers a glimpse into the ancient Maya civilization and their architectural achievements.
